Hosting an Orphan in Summer 2010

Family Hope is taking applications for Summer 2010 Hosting!! Please click on "Contact Us" and we will email you information and pictures of children available for hosting between mid July and mid August 2010.

Exact dates are not yet firm, but we expect the children to arrive between July 15 and July 22 and they will stay for 3-4 weeks.

Requirements for Hosting:

Family must complete an application and agree to the terms of our hosting agreement and policies. This includes agreeing to  care for the child and meet their needs, including food, clothing and personal items. Insurance will be provided for the children (does not cover pre-existing conditions), but families will be responsible for the $100 deductible.

Family must have a homestudy or mini-homestudy (like a letter) from a social worker or agency. State level clearances will be necessary as well for all individuals 18 or over in the home. Family must also read the Family Hope training manual.

Families pay a $150 application fee and then make an estimated $3,000 to $4,000) tax deductible donation to sponsor the child they wish to host. (Donation will vary based on several factors still outstanding including number of children, airfare, length of stay, etc.) The family is also responsible for covering any transportation costs between the arrival/departure city to the your home town.  

Becoming a Host Family:

Contact us to learn about children available for hosting and request an application package. Children can be held only a short time and are not considered spoken for until you complete the application and are approved as a host family.

After receiving and reviewing your pre-application, we will forward our full information packet to you which includes instructions, agreements, dates, fees, and deadlines for hosting. All paperwork including home studies and clearance checks must be completed by the deadlines outlined in the application packet.
